2500 point Ork List mark 2

After a bit of thought I've gone ahead and made some changes to my initial Ork list.  The original list can be found here.  The original list didn't really have any good ways to deal with storm shield armed terminators, and since those are a staple of tourney lists, at least in my area, I decided I needed to address the issue.


First the list:

Warboss, mega-armour, attack squig, cybork body, and bosspole
15 burna boyz

6 Meganobs, 2 kombi-skorcha, 1 kombi-rokkit

I replaced Ghaz with a normal warboss in mega-armour since my all vehicle list doesn't really take good advantage of his waaagh ability.  For 95 points less I get something that still fills most of the same roles that Ghaz was being used for.  Without eternal warrior the normal warboss can't take on dreadnoughts, but other than that should do pretty well.  I'm hoping that 2 additional deffrolla will help me deal with those pesky walkers.  Only testing will tell for sure.  The burnas are there to be my solution to storm shield armed terminators.  If I can hit 5 of them from inside my battlewagon, that's 75 hits on the squad.  They'll roll some 1s eventually.

I swapped out the deffkoptas for buggies.  I lose out on the alpha-strike ability which is unfortunate, but I have yet to ever actually use it in any of the games I've played.  The buggies are less points and don't have to worry about failing leadership tests.  Overall a trade I'm willing to make.

There are a few things I'm not happy with in the list.  The squad size of 8 on the lootas is kinda crappy.  It's one of the worst possible numbers for a squad of Orks.  It's not enough to make them fearless and it still only takes 2 casualties to make them potentially run.  A sensible solution would be to make a squad of 11 and a squad of 5 to help mitigate the issue.  I currently only have 16 of them and am undecided if I'm going to be getting more.  The second problem I have is the 18 'ard boyz.  Since they are no longer on escort duty for Ghaz, there's room in the wagon for another 2.  However, I don't currently have the cybernetic arms I'd need to convert any more that would match the ones I currently have.  If I can scare up the parts I may go ahead and max out that squad by dropping the rokkits the trukk boyz are fielding.

I'd appreciate any suggestion on the list that anyone who's managed to read this far can provide.

On the painting front, my Ghaz model is coming along nicely in the limited free time I have.  Hopefully I'll be finishing him up in the none too distant future.
